Tales From Ninjaville

Traumatized by...a Popsicle?

August 14, 20261 min read

One of our clients, Gravity Hill Coffee, had what sounded like a brilliant idea for an evening event: coffee popsicles.

My immediate response was basically, “YAH! Great idea. How cool. Do it.”

The implementation...not so much.

They were made with regular brewed coffee instead of cold brew. No sugar. No milk. Just strong black coffee, frozen.

And because they were advertised as FREE, people naturally wanted them. Including children.

I’m not sure how many tiny taste buds were traumatized that night, but I do know this: I should have asked more questions.

The idea wasn’t bad. The implementation just needed more strategy than, “Coffee popsicles? AWESOME.”

In hindsight, perhaps the professional Growth Strategist should have asked a few follow-up questions. 😂

Like…are we putting sugar in these things? Apparently not. Milk? Nope. Who are we giving them to? Children. What the heck?

So yah. That’s partly on me. A good idea can still be a good idea. Somebody just needs to ask a few questions before we run with it.

Cold brew? Milk? Sugar? Great.

Hand them out to children? Yah, no. We probably should've caught that one. 😂

WHAT THIS TALE TAUGHT US

A good idea is still a good idea. But somebody needs to ask the questions before we start handing frozen black coffee to children. That’s why I’m here. 😂

Want to try Gravity Hill Coffee without the popsicle trauma? 😂
